Whatever happened to Jean Grae

While on Facebook the other day, I nearly wanted to gauge my eyes when I saw a status that said, Trina vs. Nicki Minaj. I cannot support artist that are not "true." It made me wonder what ever happened to Jean Grae. That woman went h.a.r.d. If you want to talk about true mcing, you have to first write your own rhymes.

Don't Break My Heart...

...was the song that I first heard from B.o.B., Mr. Bobby Ray. The Eastside (Atlanta) native then came out with the instant hit, "Nothin On You." I just finished downloading a whole array of his mixtapes and added them to my workout playlist. The guy is dope and plus you know I have to support my fellow Atlantans.

Oh yeah....The Adventures of Bobby Ray drops on April 27th. Get it!

Burning Ipod Usage

Jean Grae will forever be that one artist that never made it mainstream because she refuses to compromise the pen. She's quit the industry several times but you can definitely find her on a mixtape or as a guest feature to the likes of Styles P, Talib Kwali, or Immortal Technique.

I hesitated to jump on the Chrisette Michele bandwagon. I finally broke down and checked her out. I must say "Playin' Our Song" is my new jam!

Nero is like a 15 year old kid on some "make you repeat the track several times" saying he did not just say that did he?

All 3 artists are in heavy rotation in thee iPod, so definitely check them out!

Lady Gaga

I remember when I heard her name on The Hills, I think last year, I thought what a strange name. I really try to stray away from mainstream music, like Flo-Ridah and the Souljah Boy movement. I don't think my fingers can move any fast enough (to change the station) whenever I hear the song Pokerface. I am not completely sold on her BUT she is visually stimulating to look at. She comes off as a gimmick. Just like Solange Knowles and her look lately. It seems she tries too hard. Eh, shrug....goes back to listening to the Year of the Gentleman.

PS - I don't think Neyo doesn't get enough credit. This man is talented!

I was going to post about my weekend, my new toy, and a reply post for Apartment, TBD but today was very hectic at work. I am beat! I left the house at 8:20 A.M. and I got home at 8:15 P.M. I have been craving fried chicken all day. Dinner was late but it was GOOOOD! I made fried chicken with a whole wheat pasta salad. To make it a complete meal, I added some fruit. So I have absolutely no more strength except letting my iPod put me to sleep. This is my JAM!I will try to catch up tomorrow, GN.

I remember there was a time when I did not like Kanye West. He is definitely growing on me but he just doesn't strike me as the romantic-going-ou- of-his-way-to-please-his-girl type guy. Am I wrong guys? I am really loving this song, "Knock You Down." It's been on repeat on my Ipod for quite a while and the vid definitely does not dissapoint. It's about time that 2 guys fight over the same woman. I am tired of music videos showing 2 chicks fighting over the same guy! Both ladies are bringing the heat but my goodness Ciara, don't hurt anybody. Her vid is quite risque but I.LOVES.IT!!!
