After Christmas Sales

Thursday, December 24, 2009

...and it's not even Christmas yet.

Barneys

My favorite boutique in Atlanta, K-LA

Note to self, buy everyone gift cards next year, so they can take advantage of the sea of multiple sales that take place after Christmas eacy year.

I haven't been in the Christmas mood. I slacked off and bought crappy gifts. I feel horrible. I don't know why. I hate the underline pressures of gifting and buying presents have taken away the real meaning of Christmas. I want to get away from buying people gifts on this holiday. I feel it's a time to take a personal inventory and devote your spare time in volunteering....but I digress.

*The best time to get a good deal for Christian 's, shoot any major designer shoe for that matter, is after Christmas. Can you believe that if you shop wisely you can get a pair of CLs for around $300?! I told myself the same thing this time last year I would buy a pair but of course that's not happening. BUT next year, Mr. CL you will be mine.*

Tatted Up: City of Ink

Monday, August 24, 2009

I don't know about you guys but I am one of those that day dreams about my birthday months in advance....shoot at least 6 months to be exact. This year, I really want to get one or two tattoos, another piercing, and MAYBE color my hair. I know right. I am not sure if I can wait on the tat....I have been itching to get another tattoo, so I may be getting another one sooner than later. I only have one tattoo and I have always wanted more. I am not sure what has stopped me.

I want a really large tattoo on my back. I will probably go to City of Ink when I decide exactly how I want that too look. For now, all I know is that I want a large drawing of Africa on my back and something to symbolize my homeland (for that don't know I am originally from Nigeria). I am toying with the idea of getting a tat on heel. Argh! Decisions. Here are some tattoos from City of Ink:

Meth & Red explode!

Tuesday, July 28, 2009

I agree 100%. Women we have to do better. Redman's last comment is so true, "....women are making men pay for their freedom." It's a tough topic especially speaking as a single mother. There are some grimy men in this world and the courts intentions were to protect the innocent from this but we all know how that goes. BUT when you start putting a price tag on your child's happiness is ridiculous.

Honestly though, REAL men do not get the credit they deserve for taking care of their responsibilities. For example, my pops takes care of his home plus 2 kids that are not biologically his but he claims them as his own. Big up to all the men out there taking care of their home. We have to stop letting the government run our homes people. Let's be responsible adults and remember these kids are watching EVERYTHING we do.

Addiction relapse

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Being a responsible adult with priorities is hard! I am at the age to appreciate fashion and all it has to offer but cannot show my appreciation. I am tired of e-window shopping. I want to binge and have a shopping relapse. I remember when I was 20 with no cares in world. I would spend my paycheck before it was even deposited in my account. The Bebe and Arden B sales girls knew me by name (ironic how I won't be caught in the stores now). Working for the man is for the birds! I am on a shopping spree ban until my birthday in November. Boy it is hard. Trying to be a future business woman and home owner is H-A-R-D.

November please hurrieth. Shopbop is missing me tremendously.

:(

Dang it!

I hate when my beau is right. So last night, I felt compelled to do some spring cleaning. After moving things around and adding things, I checked out eBay and immediately fell in love with a Vintage perfume tray. I clicked Watch This Item and twittled my thumb for 2 whole hours waiting for the bid to come to near close. Ok, 6 more minutes left. I was going to bid on right before the bid ended and only had less than a minute left and guess what....I missed it. I told the beau and his reply was, "Well maybe that's a good thing....I doubt you needed it anyway." I snapped, "I work hard for my money and will spend it however I please." He hates when I catch a 'tude, so he hung up on me. Being the stubborn woman that I am, I smiled and thought oh well.... I guess I won that fight. I felt bad the next morning, so I sent an "I am sorry but love you text." Hahahaha. Deep down, I still felt that I was right....UNTIL I ready Ms. Fabulous Financial's blog and her words brought me back down to earth.

Excerpt: "I wouldn’t have anything in savings because I’d always think of a reason to spend it. If I viewed every purchase with short term focus and tunnel vision, I could probably “afford” any and everything my heart desired. However, as the reader mentioned, this way of thinking is exactly what creates “paycheck to paycheck” living.I call it the Poor Man’s Mentality - a false or temporary sense of security to justify a poor financial decision. Other variations of the Poor Man’s Mentality include:

1. Earn a decent salary = decide what to buy in terms of the “monthly payment”
2. All bills are paid = think about how to “spend” the rest of the paycheck
3. A little money in the bank = use the “charge” option carelessly"

Read more of it here

This has been a struggle area for me for quite some time now. I feel like when I have extra money in my account it makes me want to spend it. I am so determined to change my mind set BUT dang it's hard. It's hard to think long term gratifcation when eBay and online shopping are just a click away.

Nod and smile

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

Man. Sometimes I can be the most anti-social person. Idk, there is nothing more refreshing than being by myself doing NOTHING. I am off today and guess what, I have not changed out of my pajamas. I have not left the house well only to get some McD's (I love that place.) I have moved from my bed to the couch back to my bed. No tv. No phone ringing. Nothing. Just myself and my thoughts. I currently still live at home. I am saving money to get my own place but O M G. I think it's unnatural for adults to still live at home with their parents after 25. It makes no sense. I love my family but they drive me nuts. I can only nod and smile for so long. LMA (leave me alone.) You are interrupting my alone time. Ha ha. My mom always jokes around that she has no idea how I will be if I get married with my type of attitude. I agree. God bless the man that wants this death sentence, lol.

I am going to Savannah, GA this weekend. I am so stoked. CANNOT WAIT. River Street, Paula Dean's restaurant, small shops. I am getting so excited just thinking about it. I could see Savannah being a summer home for me.

I Don't Want to Cry No More

Thursday, March 5, 2009

I was listening to Chris Brown's new song called Cry No More. I assuming it's his song cry after what's been going on. I have tried not to comment about what has been going on between them. I don't really want to speak on the alleged attack but I have been in a relationship that I knew was not healthy (let me say that I have never been abused by NO MAN). I have been in a situation where I thought I was in love with a man and could not picture myself without him. I have been in tht situation where I told myself that I was not taking it anymore but I found myself giving in when he cries or said, "baby I'm sorry." As women, we think or want to fix our men. We want to be the strength that can make him better. I've been there where it hurt like hell. That any/everything reminds you of him. That you would convince yourself that you would rather go through the hell with him than be without him. I made excuses for him. I conditioned my head to think that ALL MEN CHEAT. I told myself that if no one wants my man, why would I want him. I stayed at the gym, I made sure every time he saw me I looked my best. I tried to be THAT woman but nothing I did was never enough. And that dreadful day, HE LEFT ME. And it hurt like hell. My stupidity tried to fight to get him back. I called. I begged. I pleaded. He took me back eventually but to only treat me that much worse. It got to point that I felt disgusted with myself. Here other men wanted my attention but I kept taking this no good man back. One day it clicked. Maybe it's called growing up but only time healed my "broken heart." I am just glad that God brought a man that represents how I should be treated. I don't have to worry about what he does when I am not with him and I know that he loves me for me. We can all have opinion on what Rihanna should have done. That she should leave him. But we are not her. She has to go through this for herself and it go the point that enough is enough. Let's hope that happens sooner than later. I pray Chris gets the help he needs. There is no excuse to bring yourself that low to lay your hands on a woman. Never. It saddens me that his female fans are so blind to make excuses for him.

Who goes for a jog in shorts and a bikini top? Who goes jogging with aviator shades on? Who goes jogging IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET?

I loathe this chic. Like seriously. Billy come get your daughter. Fame has gotten to her head.
