Easter Sunday Chic

Monday, March 29, 2010

When I was younger, Easter Sunday was a big deal. Mom would make sure I got a new dress, new shoes with accessories and spent countless hours at the hair salon. Now that I am older, I don't really follow the tradition. However, I may this year. I was browsing eBay to see if I could score a brocade dress (I think I found her). Which led me to search this trend. I fell in love with this Eva Franco dress.

While, it may not be my style to wear to church this Karen Walker dress is so my style! Loves it!

I can't get over....

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

...these two Oscar looks. It's funny that a lot of blogs did not give these ladies the justice they deserved on the best dressed list. I absolutely loved these looks! Gabrielle Union glowed in this yellow Rachel Ray number. I loved her lighter hair color and that she paired the dress with a brown clutch. When you hear Zoe Kravitz, you think of grunge and unkempt. I was pleasantly surprised how polished she looked in this Alexis Mabille Haute Couture dress. Good job ladies!

Welcome Spring

Monday, March 22, 2010

In honor of Springs arrival...I am in anticipation to throw a tea party!

My high afternoon tea party will consist of:

1. Close friends decked in floral prints and neutral minimalist frocks.
2. An array of cookies, lollicakes, macaroons, and cupcakes. Yum!
3. Fancy antique teacups with a matching silver plated antique teapot.
4. Iced chilled champagne and a bottle of Pinot Grigio.
5. The table adorned with hydrangeas and pastel colored roses in lovely tin vases.

Disorganized Mess

Friday, March 19, 2010

One of my NY resolutions was to become more organized...more organized with my time and my life. It's funny, overall I am really an organized person but at times my laziness creeps in and causes chaos. I am spring cleaning and trying to reorganize EVERYTHING. The older I get, the less things I want around me. I used to be the WORSE pack rat. The worse. My motto was more, more, more. Now, I would rather get quality items every once in a while than just buy things just to have them.

The beau bought me a beautiful 8 drawer jewelry chest for Valentines Day last year. I hung my head in shame when I saw these organized chests. I drop my jewelry and keep it moving.

Do you see how I take care of my Chanel earrings? Shame!

Random...

Whenever you're down, roses sure know how to do the trick. I was looking through my Flickr account and smiled when I saw these beauties. I think I will pick up some flowers when I get off work.

Anna Dello Russo's Apartment

Saturday, March 6, 2010

I am in awe. The Italian Editor-at-Large for Vogue Nippon gave Tommy Ton the privilege to capture these insanely photos inside of her apartment.

"...visit both of her apartments in Milan, one next to the other but one specifically meant to host her extraordinary clothing archive."

Trader Joe's Grocery Haul

Monday, March 1, 2010

My Spring Tulips from Trader Joe's.

Today marks the beginning of the beau and my "no soda/sweet tea/fries" for 5 months challenge. The beau is addicted to soda and I am addicted French Fries. So we said, starting March 1st, we would go on a no fries, sweet tea, or soda challenge until August. I am not really a soda drinker but I cannot get enough of sweet iced tea or fries. I have been preparing for this day, by watching loads of Youtube videos of healthy meal ideas. I want to not only complete this challenge but embark on a lifestyle change. This is a new realm for me. I never used to count calories or even look at the nutritional guide printed on food items. I am going to try to blog about my experiences in hopes of getting some support and/or motivate others to do the same!

My Food Goals
1. Go to TJ's every 2 weeks.
2. Eat breakfast every day.
3. Create a M-F meal plan.
4. Sat. & Sun. will be my free days but not overdoing it.

TJ Grocery Haul
Caramel Popcorn, Organic Brown Rice, Tomato Soup, Fresh Red Salsa, Laughing Cow Light, Potato Chips, Turkey Pepperoni, Mushrooms, Pita Chips, Shredded Cheese, Frozen Sweet Corn, Frozen Pepper Blend, Potato Medley, Whole Wheat Tortilla, Tomato Basil Hummus Dip, Pre-Mix Salad, Veggie Egg Rolls, Vanilla Yogurt, Granola Cereal, French Toast, Turkey Bacon, Banana, Spring Tulips.

*updated*
I just tried the Laughing Cow Swiss cheese spread with some pita crackers. Yum, yum, yum! I did not exercise today. Today, is practically an off day for me. I lazied around the house until noon. By the time I left the house, I was starving. I got a smoothie from Smoothie King (mango, orange and something else...forgot what it was). Afterward, I went to TJ and then went on hunt to find some new vintage stores. I ate at the Sweet Lime in Little 5 Points. I ordered the Salmon Skin and Shrimp Nigiri. For dinner, I mixed the vanilla granola cereal that I bought from Trader Joe's with some Honey Bunches of Oats. I was too hungry to cook. So that will be dinner. I ate it with banana. If I get hungry later, I will have some fruit.
